The terms governing your use of the GIBS website and certification services.
Last updated: June 2026
These Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Global Institute of Beauty Standards LLC (“GIBS”, “we”, “us”), a limited liability company organized under the laws of the State of New Mexico, United States of America. By accessing this website (globalbeautystandards.com), creating an account, enrolling in a cohort, or using any GIBS service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or our services.
GIBS is an accreditation, quality-assurance (QA), and certification body in the field of beauty standards and related disciplines, operating exclusively from the State of New Mexico, USA. We do not deliver the courses themselves. Courses are created and taught by independent instructors. GIBS reviews and approves course programs, performs quality assurance, verifies attendance and assessment results, and issues certificates to students who meet the published requirements.
Certificates issued by GIBS attest to the completion of continuing education only and do not constitute a government license or a guarantee of employment.
Access to student and instructor portals is by invitation only; there is no public self-registration. Accounts are created through an invitation issued by GIBS, an administrator, or an authorized instructor. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate information and promptly update it if it changes.
You must be of legal age in your jurisdiction, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian, to use the services. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
Students enroll in scheduled cohorts of a course, not in courses in the abstract. Course content, schedule, delivery format (in person, online, or hybrid), and price are set by the instructor. Admission deadlines, attendance, and assessment rules for each cohort are defined by the instructor in the approved program and snapshotted to your enrollment at the time the cohort is created.
Enrollment does not guarantee that a certificate will be issued. A certificate is issued only after all academic requirements are met and our quality-assurance process is completed (see Section 5).
GIBS charges students for its quality-assurance, attendance verification, assessment validation, and certificate-issuance services. The applicable tuition fee is the amount shown for the cohort at checkout and is determined by GIBS server-side; any other figure is not binding.
Payments may be made directly to GIBS through the website by international credit card or other enabled payment methods, and are processed in the State of New Mexico, USA.
Except where required by applicable law, fees for services already rendered (including a completed QA review or an issued certificate) are non-refundable. If a student does not meet the requirements, a single re-evaluation opportunity per paid enrollment may be available, subject to an additional fee.
To receive a certificate, a student must satisfy the published criteria for the cohort, which include a minimum attendance percentage and a minimum passing score, together with completion of all required activities and assessments. Even where an instructor considers a student to have passed, GIBS reserves the right to withhold a certificate until its QA and cross-check of attendance, grades, and coursework is satisfactorily completed.
Each certificate carries a verification mechanism (QR code or equivalent) so its authenticity can be confirmed. GIBS may revoke a certificate after issuance if it determines that it was obtained through academic fraud, impersonation, or other serious misconduct, or that the integrity or ethical standards of the program were compromised. Affected parties are notified with reasons and may appeal.
Anyone can confirm the authenticity of a GIBS certificate at our public verification page (Verify Certificate) using the QR code or certificate number. Verification results reflect our records at the time of the query and may change if a certificate is later revoked.
The GIBS name, logo, website, and certificate designs are the property of GIBS and may not be copied or used without permission. Course materials remain subject to the rights of their authors and of GIBS as applicable. You may not reproduce, resell, or redistribute course materials or certificates except as expressly permitted.
You agree not to misuse the services, including by: attempting to gain unauthorized access to accounts or systems; interfering with the security or operation of the site; submitting false information; forging, altering, or fraudulently presenting certificates; harassing other users; or using the services for any unlawful purpose. We may suspend or terminate access for conduct that violates these Terms.
We process personal data of students and instructors to provide accreditation and certification services. Because GIBS operates from the United States, your personal data may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the State of New Mexico, USA, and other locations where we or our service providers operate. By using the services you acknowledge this cross-border transfer. We handle personal data in accordance with our privacy practices and applicable law; contact us at the address below to exercise any rights you may have over your data.
The website and services are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law. GIBS does not warrant that the services will be uninterrupted or error-free, and is not responsible for the conduct of independent instructors or for events occurring during the delivery of a course.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GIBS’s total liability arising out of or relating to the services will not exceed the amount you paid to GIBS for the service giving rise to the claim. GIBS is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, United States of America, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute relating to these Terms or the services will be subject to the courts located in the State of New Mexico, USA, unless otherwise required by applicable mandatory law.
